2008 Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc

You probably see this wine bottle all over the place.  It is a mass produced grocery store and wine shop staple.  Is there anything wrong with that?  In this case. . . no!

"Kim Crawford Wines started out in a small Auckland cottage in New Zealand. Since launch in 1996, the label has gained critical acclaim around the globe. Being big was never our aim. Being the best has been."  www.kimcrawfordwines.co.nz

Yes, Kim Crawford wines are from New Zealand and Sauvignon Blancs have become the "favorite wines" of this beautiful country.  While the New Zealand is starting to produce wonderful Pinot Noirs, it is the Sauvignon Blancs that are putting their wineries (the Marlborough Region in particular) "on the map".

Sauvignon Blanc derives from the French word sauvage (“wild”) and blanc (“white”).  New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs are generally crisp and powerful with intense aromas of citrus flavors. This light to medium bodied aromatic wine matches well with salads, seafood and vegetarian dishes or as an aperitif.

The 2008 Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc is fragrant and complex, with a refreshing burst of lime, grapefruit and grass flavors. it is very acidic and great with food.  The 2008 Vintage follows a long line of previous vintages that have received numerous awards, including its place for the past number of years on the Wine Spectator's Annual Top 100 list.

If you see this bottle at you local grocery store or wine shop (and you will!), pick it up and drink it now!
