2007 Folie a Deux "Menage a Trois"

You've seen this label on the shelves of almost every wine store and grocery store wine shelf and always wondered about the wine and its "scandalous" moniker.  "Menage a Trois". . .  how good can it be, you ask?  I tell you, "its not bad"!

"Menage a Trois examines what happens when you put three attractive, single, young grapes together in one exquisite bottle". (www.folieadeux.com)

The Folie a Deux winery in Napa Valley California produces "Menage a Trois". It is a blend of Zinfandel, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Each grape variety is fermented separatelyand then blended together before bottling to add complexity and retainthe character of the wine. The Zinfandel brings a slight taste of spice and hints raspberry and blackberry to the blend, the Merlot adds a generous mouth feel of redfruits that  "mellows" the blend, and the Cabernet provides rich flavors and firm tannins to complete the blend of the three.

The 2007 Menage a Trois has a rich garnet color.  It has inviting aromas of blackberry, raspberries and vanilla. On the taste you will find a fruity, silky and balancedwine. It has pleasant flavors of raspberry jam, cherries and hints of vanilla. This is a great "weekday wine".

So next time you need a "good red wine" for under $12.00, give this one a try!
