Supporting the "Mitten" State with every Sip . . . Michigan by the Bottle

One of the biggest tour de forces in the Michigan wine industry is not a wine maker, producer, wine expert or vineyard owner. One of the biggest tour de forces in the Michigan wine industry is Michigan by the Bottle and its Michigan wine proponents, Shannon and Cortney Casey.

The Caseys are huge fans of Michigan wine. In an effort to help the wine industry a little over a year ago, when times were bleak here in Michigan for any industry, they created Michigan by the Bottle ("MBTB"). http://www.michiganbythebottle.com/

Michigan wine makers make wine. Most do not have an internet presence. Oh, some have gotten better, with some help from MBTB, but most are consumed by the process of producing and selling wine and do not have time for the internet or social media to help them. MBTB makes them "internet relevant".

MBTB keeps us all up to date on Michigan wine industry news, happenings, tastings, personal stories and even hosts "Tweet & Taste Michigan" events that showcase Michigan wines and their producers through tastings on Twitter. In addition to the website, you can find MBTB on Facebook ("like" them for updates) and on Twitter (follow them at @MichbytheBottle) for updates on Michigan wine news.

What is truly remarkable about MBTB though, is that the Caseys are not "in" the wine industry. Neither is employed by, nor are their families part of, the wine industry. It is a true "labor of love" for the couple and they do a fantastic job of promoting the Michigan wine community.
